The primary mission of Safety and Security efforts is to ensure
that everything possible is being done to provide a safe living
and working environment for residents and employees of the Housing
and Dining Services Department.
Tasks performed to accomplish this goal include but are not limited
to:
- Coordinate department's risk management efforts
- Chair department's safety committee (CORE Group)
- Fire drills (Halls each semester)
- Fire extinguisher testing (Annually)
- Hall room inspection program (Annually)
- Sprinkler system testing (Biannual)
- Staff Training (Bloodborne pathogen, fire extinguishers, hazard
communications, respiratory protection, etc.
- Department's representative on the University Safety Committee
