Safety and Staff Training

The primary mission of Safety and Security efforts is to ensure that everything possible is being done to provide a safe living and working environment for residents and employees of the Housing and Dining Services Department.

Tasks performed to accomplish this goal include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate department's risk management efforts
  • Chair department's safety committee (CORE Group)
  • Fire drills (Halls each semester)
  • Fire extinguisher testing (Annually)
  • Hall room inspection program (Annually)
  • Sprinkler system testing (Biannual)
  • Staff Training (Bloodborne pathogen, fire extinguishers, hazard communications, respiratory protection, etc.
  • Department's representative on the University Safety Committee
