- To promote and implement the core values of the department and
University with staff and students
- Support the academic performance of residence hall students
through policies, procedures and programs
- Increase awareness, education and appreciation to diversity
and current social issues throughout all aspects of the residence
life program
- Increase the representation and retention of minorities in residence
life staff positions
- Design a comprehensive program of staff development that trains
residence hall staff to meet their developmental needs and the
developmental needs of students

- Continue to emphasize personal responsibility and accountability
about alcohol and other drug awareness and abuse prevention for
both staff and students
- Maintain a secure environment through educational approaches,
staff development and safety/security programs
- Conduct ourselves in the performance of our responsibilities
in a manner which communicates to students that we care about
them as individuals and community members
- Administer and manage our efforts in a cost effective manner
and strive for fiscal accountability in all facets of the residence
life program
- Teach staff and students about their citizenship of hall and
CSU communities
